The Wave vs TBow which is best

I’ve had a T-Bow for a while. In fact, I’ve got 16 of them! They are stacked in the garage and are always in my way when I require to get into the Deepfreeze. Every six weeks or so, I haul them all to class and teach Pilates using them. They are absolutely fantastic! Not only that, I also do my home workout on a T-Bow – it takes up little space in the house, can be set up in the blink of an eye and is stacked neatly against the wall when I’ve finished my exercise.

But now there is competition on the market – cue the spooky music – the WAVE has arrived!

The WAVE is fairly similar in design, except that it is a slightly different shape. It is the brainchild of the US company called the Firm, whereas the T-Bow is designed and manufactured in Switzerland.

So what’s the difference between them?

1. The T-Bow is a single, curved piece of heavy duty plastic, the WAVE is braced to give it strength. They are similar in size and shape, with the T- Bow being slightly less bulky and slightly easier to handle and carry. The T-Bow will stack with others, and the WAVE won’t – however this is not a problem unless you need to store a lot of them.

2. There is one hell of a price difference! The WAVE costs just under $100, the T – Bow twice that. And it’s quite difficult to get hold of a T – Bow at present in the US.

3. The T-Bow comes with a demonstration booklet and a wallchart, with clear professional photographs showing the various exercises. The WAVE, on the other hand, comes with a wall chart and several DVDs showing various workouts – including Abs, Fat-Burning and Muscle Sculpting, along with a healthy eating guide.

4. Both can be used with elastic exercise bands, neither offers the bands as standard. However flexibands are inexpensive and can be bought from any sports store – in my opinion you don’t need to buy specialised (and expensive) exercise bands.

I rate both as excellent pieces of home exercise equipment which will burn calories and tone muscle. However the WAVE has my vote in terms of value for money and the package offered.
